The program data is compiled by AUCC staff and staff at member universities. Programs are classified by the editors of the Directory of Canadian Universities according to the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP), originally developed by the National Center for Education Statistics in the U.S. The 2000 edition of CIP was adopted by Statistics Canada as their standard field of study taxonomy.
